What happens if the sonographer notices something unusual during the scan?
If the sonographer sees anything that may require further assessment, they will explain this to you during your appointment. We’ll discuss the findings clearly and answer any questions you may have.
It’s important to remember that most findings that need a repeat scan are not serious, and around 15% of scans are repeated for various routine reasons such as baby’s position or limited visibility on the day.
